It was built on 1956 and was the tallest building of the city until 1984. In 2006, the tower celebrated its 50th anniversary, and the 37th to 44th floors were reopened, a site museum is present now, and a fully remodeled Mirador, the observation deck designed by Danish-born architect Palle Seiersen Frost.
