Basilica di San Pietro
The Basilica di San Pietro in Vaticano or Basilica of Saint Peter is the second of the four major basilicas of Rome, and it is the most prominent building inside the Vatican City, and its dome is also a very dominant feature in the Roman sky. The Basilica is probably the biggest church of Christianity, covering an area of 5.7 acres and a capacity for over 60.000 people. It is considered one of the holiest (if not the holiest one) sites of Christendom, being the burial place of Saint Peter, one of the 12 apostles od Jesus, the founder of the Roman Catholic Church and the first Bishop of Antioch, later the first Bishop of Rome.
