Colmar_christmas Colmar was founded in the 9th century and it is a town and commune of Alsace. It's a  well preserved old city that centers houses and large scale buildings in German gothic and Renaissance style, we can find a large number of old churches, like the Saint-Martin from the 13th-16th century, which is the largest and most important. In the 15th century, the local artist Martin Schongauer, painted his masterpiece, The Madonna of the Roses, in Colmar's Eglise des Dominicains (Dominican Church).
