Alsace

Alsace Alsace is located on the eastern border of France, on the west bank of the Upper Rhine and is adjacent to Germany and Switzerland. It was part of the Holy Roman Empire and in the course of the 17th century was slowly put under French sovereignty and made one of the provinces of France. It has many forests like the Haguenau Forest and several valleys are found in the région. Its highest point is the ballon de Guebwiller with 1426 m. This region is very famous for its wines and beer brewing.
