French Concession

The French Concession used to be an area designated for the French, now it is a busy shopping area, with tree lined avenues and Tudor mansions, reasons for why it is called the "Paris of the East". Xintiandi is a very popular spot, full of restaurants, clubs and cafes, and some traditional Shanghai lodgings, blending European and Chinese design. Obviously, the best things to do, are shopping as if there is no tomorrow, and go to the great restaurants and bars in this zone.
