Xia Dynasty
The Xia Dynasty is the first dynasty to be described in Chinese historical records, and from 2205 BC to 1766 BC, this Dynasty had 14 generations and 17 kings. This dynasty was founded when Shun abdicated his throne to his minister Yu. Shun considered that Yu was the perfect civilian servant, and Yu, instead of passing the power to the person most capable of ruling, passed the power to his son Qi, starting the dynasty.
During this dynasty, a ruling structure developed, originating the earliest forms of the Chinese legal codes.
