Punta Gorda

Belize1 Punta Gorda is a town in Belize and is the capital of the Toledo District. Although the town has a Spanish name its inhabitants are mostly English speaking, primarily from Garifuna, East Indian, and African decent. It is a seaport and fishing town located on the Caribbean Sea, and was a small fishing village before being settled by the Garifuna emigrants from Honduras back in 1823.
