Pedra da Gávea

2Adventure  lovers will definetly enjoy climbing this 2,800 feet mountain from which one has an awesome panoramic view of the city and the beaches below. The mountain was named because of its shape, resembling a gávea (the upper part of a ship). Visitors can either walk on the trails or choose a guided tour. There are some inscriptions on the rocks and a lot of controversy over whether or not they are from earlier civilizations.
