Uvs Nuur Lake

Uvsnuur_1 753 meters above sea level, Uvs Nuur Lake is the largest lake in Mongolia, and shared with the Tuva Republic of the Russian Federation. It used to be a very big saline sea several thousand year ago, now, just a shallow saline lake. Located in Uvs Nuur Basin, which is the best preserved steppe of Eurasia, and homes 41 mammal species, including the snow leopard (endangered species) and 173 bird species.UNESCO declared the basin as a World Heritage Site in 2001.
